Sr.Eppie's Year End Message PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 31 December 2011 07:54

Dear Sisters, Regina Rosarii Mission partners and Friends,

The end of the year 2011 is here. I invite you to journey with me in a prayerful thanksgiving for the many blessings we have been given. The fact you can read what I am writing is already a blessing. Because you can comprehend what I am saying means you are a lucky one who can be aware of events happening around us.

We are happy to share with you that we have gathered through the K bears project enough to give joy to 1,000 people whom we minister to during the Tuesdays with K friends. Our K friends are those who live in the Kalye, (street) have Kailangan (need), live in a Kariton (pushcart).

The cross of the Chapel has now been hoisted to the steeple. It was very windy and risky, however thanks to all the prayers of those who witnessed it, the thumping of our hearts eased out when the CROSS stood there and proclaimed, the Triumph of Cross.

We have started on a 100 days countdown before the blessing of the Chapel. We have only 80 days left before March 19th. We pray there will be more good hearted people who will see to the completion of the chapel. The interior work takes time, but our Lady will see us through.

The Dominican Sisters of Regina Rosarii visited our Mother Congregation in Molo. They welcomed us with their heart. We visited our elderly and sick Sisters last December 29. We came home with great joy knowing all is well now and will be well. We continue with our new springtime of consecrated life with faith in Jesus we follow: Jesus the friend of the poor and the healer of the broken.

Thank you Lord for the year that was. Welcome to the new year, 2012! This is going to be a year of many graces, a year of hope, a year of plenty.

Thank you for visiting our website and for being part of Regina RICA and our Ministry. Wishing you all a very happy, healthy new year that is full of harmony.

Lovingly in our Lady, Regina Rosarii,

SISTER EPPIE and Sisters

Sunday, 18 December 2011 07:13

Last Dec 13, 2011 we had the Soft blessing of our Chapel of Women Mystics at our Regina Rica Columbary we call, Pahuwayan. The term Pahuwayan is an Ilongo term that means the Resting Place. The five women mystics were also blessed. St. Catherine of Siena, Martha and Mary, St. Teresa of Avila and Julian of Norwich. The soft blessing was done December 13, 2011 at 9:00 AM by Msgr. Peter Cañonero the Chancellor of the Diocese of Antipolo. Sr. Eppie introduced the women mystics one by one.

Touched by Our Lady's Love PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 17 December 2011 15:57

Dear Mama Mary, Regina Rosarii,

attyI am writing to you because I am touched by your love. In December of 2009, I experienced rectal bleeding but I took it for granted until July of 2010 when the blood started to flow profusely from my rectum. I went to the hospital for a check up and the doctor informed me that I needed to have a colonoscopy. After the procedure, I was surprised that he requested me to undergo further tests. The doctor said the result would be released a week later. Unmindful of the results, I continued my ordinary work and activities. I kept postponing my scheduled appointment with my doctor.

Until one day, my wife told me that I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer! It was during that state of anger, denial, depression and confusion that I refused to be treated medically.

Pahuwayan PDF Print E-mail

pahuwayanPahuwayan (an Ilonggo word for a resting place) is on Level 2 of the Chapel on the Hill, nestled in the mountainside and facing the statue of Our Lady Regina Rosarii.

Unique in its design and made to last many generations, our Pahuwayan commands a breathtaking view of nature with its trees and hills so close to us as we visit our loved ones. It is in the care of the Dominican Sisters of Regina Rosarii that the serenity and simplicity of the place is realized.

The Chapel of the Women Mystics

The Chapel of the Women Mystics, where daily Mass will be held, reminds us of Christ's Resurrection, the stronghold of the Catholic faith and a symbol of hope for us. St. Catherine of Siena and St. Teresa of Avila stand on both ends of our oval altar. They are women mystics who have been declared Doctors of the Church. The Altar area draws our thoughts to that first Easter morning where Mary Magdalene first preached the good news, “I have seen the Lord. He is truly risen!” At the entrance we are greeted by Martha and Mary, one busy and the other attentively listening. Opposite Martha and Mary sits the anchoress, St Julian of Norwich, who trustingly assures us that "All will be well!" A total of 13 statues of women mystics will surround Pahuwayan.
